I think the collection is another blah, overpriced Lauren Conrad trying to think her clothes are high fashion. Most of the materials for the clothing is jersey, and with the color schemes and the basic hemlines and waistlines we must wonder why just because lauren conrad is "famous" she can call herself a high fashion designer. I do think many celebrities are talented in the fashion department, as I am a huge Elizabeth and James fan who has many pieces from their collections. But Lauren Conrad's seem to be overpriced collection where most people who have an H&M and Forever21 nearby can pick up pieces there for no more than 30 dollars. Why pay $200 for a dress by Lauren Conrad. If you are going for a designer label keep your $200 go to saks, and realize you can get much better quality clothes and clothes with something more than a sleezy black ruffle.

lejames on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 7:16am

OVERPRICED. How unoriginal... you can find these items, or ones similar at any chain store....

foreverfashion on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 7:35am

$165 for leggings? Sorry, if she's going to name a collection "La Vie en Rose" it should live up to its name. The name has too much of a sophisticated tone to it to create such a boring monotonous collection. No creativity whatsoever. Like lejames said for $200 you can get better quality and certaintly more fashionable at Saks.

RosaDilia on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 8:02am

the featured dress looks like something what every girl I see wears on my 6th street (night club district)...

turquoisepassion on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 8:14am

Her collection is so BORING and unoriginal. NEXT!

LolaSvelt on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 8:46am

Blah. Yep, overpriced Forever 21 clothing. I really can't see anyone dropping money (or at least how much she's charging) on this stuff.

courtinator on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 9:16am

i don't think people are giving her a chance with her line. honestly do you think the designers made it out successfully when they started their line? she's trying to make a name for herself. one of her bubble dress is quite similar to alice + olivia collection and i'm pretty sure that A+O gets more press because it's well known design than lauren's because who she is and how "easily" she got her fashion line debut.

but i honestly do think she has potential and needs a lot of improvements with creativity, patterns, shapes and seams. would i buy her stuff? not yet. i would spend good money on clothes, only if it's worth the price. i'm still waiting for something that will really catch my eyes.

Vixen41686 on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 9:16am

I understand she is just starting out, but the prices?? Seriously? She could easily do these designs but with a $50-$125 range instead. She is a NEW, unproven designer, if Im dropping $200 on a dress, its not going to with Lauren Conrad on the label.

LuciLu on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 9:23am

i agree- she either needs to lower her price to what it should be for the quality and style of her clothes- or if she wants to charge a premium then she simply needs to make better clothes with better style. i mean i love jersey dresses and i wear a ton of them in the summer- but i have some great ones from tart and h&m, i woudln't pay more for hers

megln1022 on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 9:26am

Nope.

oliveoyle625 on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 9:39am

I hope this "line" goes bankrupt soon. It is completely devoid of talent or creativity.

fleurfairy on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 10:09am

overpriced and BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank y Ava on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 10:09am

Its not bad. its nothing special, but its not bad. Is it worth the money? No. However, its not like its ugly.

Abbytheshoegirl on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 10:27am

I agree with Abbytheshoegirl. Where's the creativity?

shannydoots on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 10:48am

It's definitely not ugly, but it's not innovative either. If her clothes were 10-25% of their current price, I'd buy them. Older women with money probably don't buy these (because there's relatively no label recognition) and younger women are usually too broke to drop $165 on a pair of leggings. I'd rather stick with my $8 Target leggings and save up for a pair of Louboutins.

countchocula on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 10:50am

I want one of the high waisted skirts. Most of the dresses are very cute. She has improved from her previous fall collection.

sabrina27 on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 11:21am

Oh my gosh! Is Lauren modeling her own line? Is that her? If it isn't her then they found a model who looks scary close to LC, and if it is her then she was photoshopped. This collection is nothing different than the previous collections. The clothes aren't ugly, but there's no creativity. You have your very own clothing line, have some fun with it!

brynna on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 11:36am

boring!!!!!!!!!! yet again, anyways you can't expect much from her........... i think all of this dresses you can get them at American Apparel for $30 !

gabitaitalia on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 12:05pm

brynna - haha! I thought the same thing. The girl looks eerily like Lauren - hair, makeup, everything!

As for the clothes, it's not that they're ugly, they're just entirely too expensive for such simplicity and for being relatively unknown in the fashion world. Like a majority of people have said before, you can find similar pieces @ H&M, Forever 21, American Apparely, and heck, even Target, for a fraction of her price. I'd say she definitely needs to come down on the prices on her future collections. Maybe then they won't be on the "Buy One Get One Free" rack @ Kitson.

couture yourself on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 1:18pm

oopsie - American Apparel*, not "Apparely" haha.

couture yourself on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 1:19pm

Same ol', same ol'...

emalove on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 2:00pm

I'm getting bored of her. My mum went to LA last week and offered to buy me stuff from her line. I said no because for something so simple, it's a tad overpriced. She got me Chloe sunglasses instead.

neonbee on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 3:14pm

I actually really like this! The clothes are basic, but you can put your own stamp on them by accesorizing. I could see myself wearing many of these items.
BUT, it is waaaay too overpriced! The quality of the fabric isnt even great. Plus, I doubt she ever put pencil to paper to design this. So I'm not spending my money on it.

omigosh on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 3:25pm

i've been really under-whelmed by every collection of hers, it just seemed like she had a lot of growing to do as a designer, like finding a voice. Then a friend of mine who just graduated from FIDM, where Lauren also went to school, told me that Lauren was actually studying merchandising, not design, and it all seems to make sense now.

shopgrrl on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 3:29pm

all of these pieces, including colors and prints, are identical to past and current rachel pally collections.

apaigemueller on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 5:12pm

Yay another bland, boring overpriced clothing collection from Lauren Conrad! She should have marketed her clothes to Target, because that's where this stuff belongs. Cute, cheap and trendy.

norajeans on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 5:58pm

Everything is just so plain, already out there, and way over priced. Who actually buys stuff from her collection?

minahmacchiato on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 8:23pm

forever 21? haha

madelinehvu on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 9:31pm

yeah I think Edith Piaf just rolled over in her grave

katherinev on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 11:14pm

Repeat...blah.... lack-luster... MTV star... enough said

bontongirl on Tue, 08/05/2008 - 1:47am

Is the same thing every season. I don't think she is having any success with the line, if she would of make it more affordable I think she could of done better, once her reality statues is gone her line would be gone to. You can get nicer dresses from named designers.

totygoliguez on Fri, 08/08/2008 - 5:41pm

I liked one of the dresses but that's about it. This line way overpriced.

I witnessed Lauren's Fall collection on the runway and now it's time to buy it. The La Vie en Rose collection is now available on her brand website. It's a mix of her staple California jersey basics, with a French flair and a sliver of the '80s. Her favorite teeny frocks range from strapless and girlie to maxi glam. Halters, asymmetrical and scoop necks rule; this collection is a tad sexier than her past ones. Prices range from $90 for a top to $230 for a dress. It's sassier and sexier, do you want a piece of La Vie en Rose?
