    COOL.

I would've eaten it, though, with a hearty dip into that hot, delicious melted "cheese" goo they serve. I love those curly fries.

Crap. I have had one that was atleast a foot long. Had I known anyone cared about this sort of thing, I would have kept it. Shoot.

I do have a picture of it though.

    CaterpillarGirl on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 10:51am

    chrisTyyy on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 10:57am

I would have eaten it too, lol.
You don't get a monetary prize for a Guinness Record do you?

    Jinx on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 11:02am

Ya I probably would have eaten it. I bet my bf would have wanted to keep it though.

I love this story but this selling food on ebay is just too kooky to me and what they pay for it.

    AmberHoney on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 12:08pm

    Yes, woulda eaten it!

    AmberHoney on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 12:09pm

I get ticked when I read about people selling dumb crap on Ebay, especially when they make a nice profit off of it. Maybe I'm just jealous... Eye-wink

I think it's hysterical that the yard stick they used was from a Mortuary.

I would have just eaten it, too. GWR is a joke. Though I guess maybe I would have been excited about possibly getting into a record when I was a kid. Now I'd rather just eat my food because times are tough, so waste not want not!

Hee, she probably doesn't have a life, CaterpillarGirl. By which I mean this giant fry might be the most exciting thing to happen in her town. That news report did say this is taking place in a boring town in the middle of nowhere.

GWR do not pay anything. From their FAQs:
"We never pay record breakers for their achievements – we also do not cover expenses, offer sponsorship or provide equipment. We believe that the prestige and international recognition of being an official Guinness World Record is reward enough.

Also, our record holders are fuelled not by financial gain but the satisfaction of setting, achieving and surpassing their goals – and receiving the offical Guinness World Records certificate."

i'm sure that if i found something that long in my fries i would first be freaked out by it - but i don't know what i would do. i think that people just don't always pay attention when they are making fries at fast food places so i'm not overly surprised that this was found...it's not like it's a 2 foot long hot dog or something like that. fries are plopped in a fryer, and then scooped into a container -there's not much individual handling there.

I would have eaten it. Oh and thanks Jude for the idea about dipping the fries in cheese sauce, I don't know why I never thought of that before. Drool

    milosmommy on Fri, 09/19/2008 - 10:54am

That sauce is so good. I always get extras because one is not enough.

    Jude C on Fri, 09/19/2008 - 10:56am

I despise those curly fries, and probably wouldn't have even noticed. I love the roast beef sandwiches, though. Smiling

    lexichloe on Fri, 09/19/2008 - 8:54pm

I love me some curly q's but I must admit I probably would have just eaten it and called it a happy curly q day

    YumSugar Says:

At an Arby's in Hendersonville, SC, Hannah Odom reached to grab a curly fry and came up long — two feet long, to be exact. In the footage below, captured by a local station, the 15-year-old shows off the unusually long fry, which she's keeping in the refrigerator. She has refrained from auctioning off the item on eBay or eating it, instead waiting to hear back from the Guinness Book of World Records. The last known world record was for 6.75 inches, a record that Odom has edged out by 17.25 inches. She expects to hear back from Guinness representatives in three to four weeks.

What I couldn't figure out after watching the clip below was how the record-long fry managed to go unnoticed by the person who cut and cooked the fry. How would you react if this happened to you? Would you have just eaten it?
