I fly from Philadelphia to Los Angeles every year for Thanksgiving and I always get a flight around $350-400. I use Farecast and always buy on a Tuesday or Wednesday night Smiling

I have to fly the day before thanksgiving to los angeles from san jose and back on sunday. On southwest, a trip that normally costs me $130, is costing $260, and that was 2 months in advance. So thats $550 some dollars for my husband and i to fly 400 miles this thanksgiving.

wow - i don't know much about it then. i've been trying to find tickets from New York to Dallas (or Tyler Texas actually) anyone find any good deals?

Wow silly for that much I would just drive from southern to northern cal. It would save you a ton especially since gas prices are coming down.

Normally I spend about 200-300 for a round trip from any of the bay area airports back to Pittsburgh, PA. I've checked prices for thanksgiving and it jumps to 500+ easily. Big reason why I don't go home for the holidays.

Well that quiz sucked for me, 0/5. My husband and i bought our tickets way back in the beginning of the year so our price wasn't bad.

i go between san francisco and orange county many times every year. thanksgiving has always been the most expensive trip. i save money by flying on thanksgiving day from LAX to SFO and then coming back tuesday from OAK to SNA. it sort of helps. this year my total is $150.... which is only aout $30 more than normal.. but the only drawback is the trip to LAX on the way to san francisco and then the trip to oakland on the way back.

The cost of air travel is something that fascinates me, perhaps because it's difficult to know when a fare is a deal or more expensive than it should be. One thing is certain about air travel: It's especially pricey to fly during the holidays compared to other times of the year. What do you know about the cost of traveling on two of the most popular days of the year, November 26 and November 30? All answers are based on buying round-trip, economy class tickets one month ahead of time.
