ABC was just setting up PD for failure by not airing it for TWO WEEKS and hardly promoting its return. Many people thought it had already been canceled. It was all just a ploy for low ratings to justify the cancellation they already had in mind. Bah to that.

The writers strike really screwed a lot of (now sophomore) shows over (like all three of these!), and it's a shame the networks haven't aptly adjusted their perception of "success."

I am sad and I'm going to go eat pie and cry in it now, thanks.

It's ABC's own fault for moving DSM around, taking it off the schedule for a long time, and giving it some lame story lines. How bad can you screw up a show with Donald Sutherland, Peter Krause, William Baldwin, Jill Clayburgh and Blair Underwood as regulars? It has potential, except the story lines are more implausible than Dynasty in the 80s.

Oh well, I hope Donald and Peter make more movies with the free time, since both are pretty talented.

especially for Pushing Daisies. I have to say, though, that I don't like this season as much as the first season, but it is still better than most of the stuff on TV nowadays. I just wish they would focus more on Ned/Chuck stuff than the crimes.

let me be a child for a moment... I AM SO SAD THAT THEY'RE DISCONTINUING PUSHING DAISIES i love that show, even though its a little weird, I like everything about that show, it's so different from typical shows and i like its clever quirkiness, and the setting and costume of everything... so sad

I totally agree jasmint. I NEVER see commercials for Pushing Daisies, yet I get bombarded with dumbass Samantha Who? commercials all the time (I like the show, but not the commercials). I know a lot of people who didn't know that Pushing Daisies was still on either.

Nooo....I love Dirty Sexy Money! I agree with GInger that it has way more potential than what they do with the show and one of the most talented casts on abc.

I am so upset about Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies. I guess if it doesn't have "with the stars" in the title it's doomed on ABC.

I'm so bummed out now because Daisies is canceled for now (holding onto hope...even if it's just a little bit). I remember before when I found out that Wonderfalls got canceled, I was pretty devestated, and it was only on air for a few episodes. But now Daisies going away? I can't wrap my head around it.

I hope they can at least wrap up DSM and Eli Stone, and not leave us hanging with unresolved story lines. Stupid ABC. Along with Prison Break, there are now three of my favorite shows getting the ax. Bleh!

Hopefully, we'll get to see the Darlings bring Simon Elder down before they take the show off the air... And finally know who killed Nick's dad.... It's so frustrating and very very sad to think we may never see that !!! Sad

After 10 minutes, I am still royally pissed!!! I can't believe ABC could keep a show like Boston Legal around for YEARS, and then turn around and give these 3 shows the ax, especially given that all three of them were freshman shows during the writers strike. If all they care about is "numbers", why not just dedicate their entire network to Dancing with the Low-Brow Stars 24/7!!!

I can't believe Pushing Daisies might be cancelled. Thats terrible..yet sh*ticious Grey's Anatomy is going on 5 seasons too long. Thats a show that needs to be cancelled.

pushing daisies is always adorable, lovable, funny, witty, and stylishly cool. what a complete disappointment. it was ONE SHOW that my BF and i could watch together, cuddling the whole time, and kiss each other sweetly afterwards.

That STINKS! I love Eli Stone & Pushing Daisies. I also liked Lipstick Jungle, which I hear is canceled as well.

...just hope that they aren't all replaced with some cheesy reality shows.

I think a small piece of my heart just broke off upon hearing the cancellation of Pushing Daisies. Easily the best show on television! WTF, ABC?!

I can't stand all the reality drivel on TV these days. At least there's Netflix...

And please, PLEASE say Lee Pace has some more work coming up soon. He's dreaaammmy.

It seems a trend now that any new show doesn't get a chance to make it. When M*A*S*H* was in it's first season it was almost cancelled then it was given another season and moved to a different day. 11 seasons later and it's a classic.

It's sad that the "big wigs" would rather cancel fantastic shows like these and replace them with more reality shows like "Bret Michaels Rock of Love."

Since every show that I watch has either been canceled (Lipstick Jungle, Pushing Daisies, DSM) or is in trouble (Chuck, 30 Rock), I'm just going to stop watching new shows. Every time I get attached to a show, it gets scrapped for more crappy reality or clone procedurals. Ugh.

there's so much 'interesting' stuff going on with shows this year..it's like they are canceling and then uncanceling ...and i don't know what to think. i wonder what shows we'll actually have stay on the air if this keeps happening.

so what is ABC and the other networks going to have now?? MORE F-ING REALITY SHOWS?????

it seems that the only shows that survive at all are shows about doctors (greys and house) and crime (svu-even though its boring now, ncis, numbers, etc).

samantha who sucks this season, as does ugly betty. grey's is even goin down the tubes, eli stone is ok, a little cheesey though. i loved DSM last season, but haven't watched it lately.

i love lipstick jungle, i hope it stays on!

R.I.P., Pushing Daisies! If only I had the magic touch to make it alive once again... hehe. I HAD to say it! Blah. I mean, Family Guy got canned before and it got brought back. I think PD might have some hope if we keep asking for it. ::sniffling:: I have nothing to look forward to on Wed.

ABC has decided against ordering more episodes of Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money, at least for now, writes The Hollywood Reporter. The story continues:

Actively avoiding the c-word, the network left the door open for ordering more episodes at a future date, though that is considered improbable. The trio are still on the schedule for next week.

Pushing Daisies has wrapped production on its 13 episodes for this season, while Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone will be able to finish their initial orders. There's no word on whether all of those episodes will air between now and when ABC's midseason schedule kicks off in January, though.

Meanwhile, this makes it official that Life on Mars will air after Lost starting in January. Scrubs will also join the Wednesday schedule.

Deep sigh. It's not like this is a shocking surprise for these shows (which all have gotten critical acclaim — especially Daisies — but have struggled in the ratings). But it's still, you know, sad. Can we start the collective wailing in the comments?
