Franken's got an interesting life transition - that part of the story is cool.
Does the "The Army Experience Center" include experiences like Pat Tillman's?

And I feel like everyone should follow those facebook tips, not just people who aspire to politics.

"The Senate. It's harder to get into than you thought!" Obviousily not, when a joke like Franken gets elected.

If LauraB just goes party line, that book gonna be straight boring. But if she really does get into her life as suggested in that article, I will read it.

I'm happy for Franken, though I'll hold my true celebration in until the results of the inevitable challenge are in.

Am I the only person who thinks its WRONG that anyone can become a senator or president for that matter?

So many people say to me "i love that obama won because it proves that anyone can become president" or "franken's win will show that anyone can become senator"

isn't that a BAD thing!?!? that just anyone, just any old idiot from around the block can get elected having no experience or anything at all?!? I mean, I'll give Obama some credit, I personally don't think he has enough expereince, but he was at least a senator, so I'll give him that. But franken?!?!! My grilled cheese for lunch is more qualified.

Haus, I doubt anyone is cheering that anyone-without-experience-or-qualifications can get elected. It's that anyone-without-tons-of-money-and-special-connections can get elected. That's what people are so excited about.

    True Song on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 7:28am

Haus, the thing you are missing is that the voters elect the person. If you don't like who they chose blame them. Anyone can run, and the people vote. That's democracy!

"Am I the only person who thinks its WRONG that anyone can become a senator or president for that matter?"

Please, after months of defending Palin YOU ask that??

Who is most qualified to become a senator or president - should they just be lawyers, or business executives? How does that represent most Americans? Franken's well-educated and well-traveled; he's been politically active for years and in order to be the kind of comedian/writer he is, is very aware of what's going on in the world and across the country.
