If Jackie Kennedy had written a book telling what she knew about the assassination, I would have been interested. None of the others mean anything to me.

stephley on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 9:41am

I read Hillary's book, it is a pretty good one,I highly recommend it.
And yes, who would not be interested in a Jackie memoir?

horsi on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 9:43am

I agree, a Jackie memoir would be more interesting. Though, I think I would read Hillary Clinton's too.

Kelliegrl on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 9:52am

I would read Laura's or Nancy's, but not Hillary's or Barbara's. I like reading memoirs though.

krae85 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 9:59am

Hillary

pinkprincess1101 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:05am

Hillary, of course, I want to hear all the gossip and details.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:10am

I think Jackie would have been an interesting read. The ones above do nothing for me.

starangel82 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:19am

nancy, her and Ronnies relationship and times together are fascinating.

Hillarys? If i had insomnia maybe, or needed toilet paper on a camping trip.

CaterpillarGirl on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:34am

I flipped through Living History, and it was pretty self serving and seemed a little disingenuous. But it's very possible that I just took that away because that's my opinion of her.

organicsugr on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:35am

Eleanor Roosevelt is an interesting person, I'd read something on her.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:41am

hillary.

laura bush?? yawn

PiNkY PiNk on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:50am

Nancy Reagan, because I would love to know how she felt wearing Ferragamo and Chanel while her country was going through a "slight" recession!

tiabia on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 10:55am

why don't you apply your comment to the incoming president and the amount he just spent on his hawaiian vaca during this "not so slight" recession??? People not even able to keep their house, let alone go on vaca. But he manages to do it in style. I think this can be used against only obama because he has criticized the corporate culture. If he wants to share the wealth, charity starts at home. Where as the Reagans believed in free market economy, and turned the recession around to one of the most prosperous periods of American life. I think if anything that would be the reason to read her book. I however chose Laura Bush, because I think we could use a look into their life beyond all the bashing.

StolzeMama on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:08am

Actually, I would read all. I am fascinated about people's lives and how they look back on experiences and how they learned from them and how they have not.

bellaressa on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:14am

Mikey,

I'm not talking about the yet to be sworn-in Barack Obama and the future first-lady, perhaps after January 19th, I will then ask such a question.

tiabia on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:16am

Hainan when you campaign for 2 years and don't take a vacation, then u can critize from sun up to sun down till them.....

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:18am

And spending time with your family in your hometown is different than wearing thousand dollar dresses to every event. Please try again.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:19am

Frank you haven't you learn, Obama can do no right with some people.

I don't see certain people complaining about George Bush vacationing back in Texas either as he's still the President up until January 19th.

Myst on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:21am

I know right Myst, G.W. spent more time on vacation then at work. And someone got the nerve to talk about vacation time.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:23am

lol that's because a Republican can do not wrong

Myst on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:25am

Speaking doing no wrong, did u hear Ann Coultergiest saying that Joseph McCarthy was a victim of oppression from the liberals/liberal media and that the liberals are responsible for the "illegtimate" rising 300%

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:28am

Nancy Reagan hands down because regardless of politics that was one hell of a love story honey. I know I'd be in tears at the end.

hypnoticmix on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:37am

I'm still not convince that Ann is a woman, Frank. And I'm not be mean about it. Even my boyfriend who's never heard of the woman and has lived in Japan all his life, saw her on tv last week and was like "is that a man?".

Plus that woman(?) just like to hear herself speak so I don't pay her and anything she has to say seriously.

Myst on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:38am

I agree with Myst, Bush spent more days on vacation than any past president, and if charity begins a Home Hainan shouldn't Bush have sent at least one of his daughters to one of the two wars he started.
Hillary is the only one who would have anything interesting to say, that I would want to read. Laura's book would be title "Life with BOZO". Barbara's "Why I married a Clown & gave Birth to BOZO"

7showgirl7 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:38am

Yes she is rocking an adams apple and boat shoes. I'm not completely convinced either.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:39am

A book as toilet paper? I don't know, I worked at Barnes for three years and got quite a few papercuts while stocking books...and dropping books on myself...and taking special orders...

I would vote for Jackie O, hands down.

em1282 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:47am

Yep that's me, Rebel Without a Cause. Ok ok I'm done no more.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:50am

Has nothing to do with a repub can do no wrong, if you read my comment it has to do with the stance Obama makes about repubs being greedy yet rents a house in hawaii for 24,000 per week I believe. 24,000 well above what most people in the US get paid for a year? The reagans did not talk about how people should share the wealth. Obama has. I would love to read a book about how the Obama's can justify spending that kind of money and flying on 747's (oh the carbon footprint) back and forth to Hawaii while people can hardly survive in a much, much worse recession than the Reagans ever saw.
I don't think Bush should have spent nearly the amount of time he did on vacation. But, that isn't what I was speaking in regards to. Take as many vacations as you want I suppose, but it is kind of hypocritical of him to tell everyone else to share the wealth and then spend like he does. I don't see how Nancy wearing chanel dresses makes her a hypocrite, when she believes in the free market system, and it is irresponsible to say that it does.

People like to throw around their sh!tty @ss political comments and act like noone should comment back.

StolzeMama on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:55am

lmao Frank you know there's this interesting piece of information floating around the internet saying Ann is really a man and was a former drag queen born Jeremy Levinsohn. I don't know but the picture that they provide looks very convincing.

Myst on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:57am

Mmmmkay, wtf is going on?

em1282 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 11:58am

My mother is convinced that Kathy Griffin was born a man.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:00pm

Drag queens and vacations and Reagan, oh my!

em1282 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:00pm

"My mother is convinced that Kathy Griffin was born a man."

I'm sorry, I'm just laughing because my mom says stuff like that all the time.

em1282 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:02pm

Hain When did Obama say all Republicans are greedy? And you don't think he is sharing the wealth by actually spending it? Would it be better if it just sat in a bank or under his mattress? Do you have personal knowledge about how much or how little the Obamas give to charity? I am not sure I understand your logic.

I would be most interested in Hillary's or Laura's stories. It would be interesting to see things from their POVs.

kastarte2 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:03pm

Not sure how all of this came about, but I like this:

"And you don't think he is sharing the wealth by actually spending it?"

Now if only that's what he intended for everyone else to do, instead of using the strongarm of the IRS.

organicsugr on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:13pm

I have no problem with presidents vacationing, or what nancy wore in the 80's or what sarah wore during the campaign, its irrelevant.

CaterpillarGirl on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:13pm

*if people are going to demand that the potty mouth be stopped it should apply for all. and WTF doesnt mean what the french.

CaterpillarGirl on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:16pm

I would like to point out that some of the people who put out the most hateful comments on here seem to be able to dish it, but not take it. So, that's kind of entertaining.

organicsugr on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:16pm

I know right organicsugr.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:18pm

WTF could mean "What the Frank-n-Furter" or "Who, those Finlandians?" or "Where's that fuddyduddy?", but if I offended anyone, I apologize.

em1282 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:21pm

Thanks for pointing that out organicsugr.

Myst on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:22pm

"WTF could mean "What the Frank-n-Furter" or "Who, those Finlandians?" or "Where's that fuddyduddy?", but if I offended anyone, I apologize."

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:23pm

Ann's a man?

hypnoticmix on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:41pm

I heard a rumor that Jamie Lee Curtis was born a hermaphrodite. I have no idea if that's true though.

hypnoticmix on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:44pm

Yes Hypno, Ann's a man.

stephley on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:44pm

Definitely Hillary. Did anyone DIE of SHOCK??? lol

I'm also very interested in Jackie Kennedy, Eleanor Roosevelt, ALSO Abigial and John Adams have quite a story. That would be very interesting.

harmonyfrance on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:45pm

Jamie Lee Curtis is HOT. Well she was in True Lies anyway.

I TOTALLY think Kathy Griffin is a man...and I've met her in person which only added to that belief.

harmonyfrance on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:46pm

This one's my favorite: "Who, those Finlandians?" lololol

My personal *republican* view on the Obama vacation or any president's vaca for that matter, is good for him, he's gonna need a lot of rest. Being president is a tough job and racks up a lot of criticism, obviously. So let him relax while he can, he probably won't really get to again for the next four years. Anyway, who wants a cranky Pres?

krae85 on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:47pm

U and I Harmony, isn't Eleanor such a bad ass.

Frank y Ava on Tue, 01/06/2009 - 12:50pm

Yeah she was AMAZING. She really changed the image of first lady from just someone that picks out the china to making a real difference. No one has rivaled her since except of course maybe Hillary Clinton. Eye-wink

Yesterday news broke that First Lady Laura Bush has signed on to pen a memoir with Scribner, the house of Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Laura's mother-in-law, Barbara Bush. The book is currently untitled, but scheduled for release in 2010, and it's unclear what type of secrets she will reveal. Memoirs are somewhat of a right of passage for former first ladies — Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush and Nancy Davis Reagan have each written one. Is there one you find particularly alluring?
