I agree. I loved Javier in VCB too, but that didn't seem like a tough role. Colin had to express different emotions in In Bruges and was also very funny. Did anyone else think he seemed like he was on speed on the red carpet though?

I loved "In Bruges"; I'm so glad that it actually got some love! I really think Robert Downey Jr. should have been nominated (and won, because he was unbelievably great and funny!) in this category for "Tropic Thunder" instead of just as a supporting actor, however. I know it was an ensemble cast, but he carried that entire film all by himself! Not to mention he has huge amounts of screen time.

Yes, loved this movie. Though I thought they would pick Javier Bardem. Yay for Colin!

you know, i think that colin's paid his dues in the past and he's really a great actor so it's lovely that he was the winner and i hope that this is just a lead in to some other great things in the coming years

Definitely, well desereved, Colin Farrell was magnificent in *In Bruges* the best movie of the year he is a brilliant actor , he deserve an oscar for it, and i'm looking forward to see his upcoming movie and i recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet you would love it.

and he gave the most eloquent and heartfelt speech of the night i loved it.
