Honestly I thought all three of these dresses were ugly, but the best would have to be Heidi's.

I really didn't like any of these dresses.

I really like Amy Adam's necklacke and that's about it.

I really liked Amy Adams overall look, the dress was just meh.

I didn't really care for Amy's dress to begin with, and the necklace (which I think is gorgeous) doesn't work with it.

honestly, i think they all fell flat. heidi looked really, really old too.

I best liked the woman who won best documentary's red dress. It was a simple red dress. Not sure if she walked the red carpet.

All three of these ladies hit the red carpet around the same time and I thought, ugh, everyone is wearing red. Little did I know that the endless parade of gray and silver was about to come.

i agree with most of the commenters - none of them stick out. i think the bottom of amanda's dress would make a statement with heidi's top/bodice, assuming they were the same fabric of course.

These are all bad. Amy's dress without the overwhelming necklace would probably be my favorite. Randolph Duke did a great job picking apart the finer details of Heidi's dress with the cheesy slit, shoes and overall look. In close up, it did look pretty tacky and poorly made.

Amanda looks like she was steered wrong by a stylist. She's young and could wear much cuter stuff.

I loved Amys necklace, she looked gorgeous right through out the Oscars sitting down because the necklace was just dazzling, but this picture of her standing up....the piping on her dress isnt right....its competing with necklace I feel. I like Heidis look. I think the the chunky jewellry is very complimentary of her dress.

All three are not great. Amanda's in particular is ill-fitting

Doesn't Heidi have to wear red? I think the only reason she is invited to the Oscars is because she is some sort of ambassador for a Coke heart health thing. And I think part of that contract is that she has to wear red (the color that best represents the heart, I guess).

I too don't like any of these dresses...They all harken back to 1989....BUT I LOVED Megan Mylan's dress...she was the winner of best foreign short film. Gorgeous red dress!

I really don't like any of the dresses.. but in terms of who looks better in RED-- def Amanda. It made her face look so sophisticated.

Amy hands down. Why? cuz the pic doesn't do her justice!! Seriously, I saw her on the red carpet, in HD, and she looked really nice. In photos she looks kinda blah, but honest to goodness she looked nice live and in HD hahaha.

Heidi... the piping just made the dress go downhill for me and the bow... YIKES! A no no for me. WAY too big.

Oh and Amanda's shoes.... Oy... I'd rather have seen a pair of patent leather or metallic shoes or something. I just don't like a dark matte shoe with a red formal dress.

I don't think any of them are particularly good, but out of the three Amy's is (marginally) the better one.
