This story is so tired. Move on from LC's braids.

I wish I could pull off braids. I'm 27 and I look like I'm 17 without them. I tried this the other day and I looked way too young. Sucks because I think it's a great look.

UGH i suck at french braiding, need to practice...maybe it will work in my favor that the braids are SUPPOSED to be loose!! But i adore this look, I'm always looking for cute and not sloppy ways to wear my hair up on lazy/late mornings Smiling

@angelina8023: I hear ya, I'm 24 and look about 17 no matter what I do. I've begun to accept it LOL, I know I'll appreciate it when I'm older.

I love braids, I love wearing them with long hair; will there be a thing on her makeup? I like the soft, natural, shimmer look!

As an African American women I find the fact that a hairstyle I use to wear as a child and hairstyles that my friends young daughters, my little sister and my little cousins still wear is now a trend in the Celebutant, reality star community. Everytime I see one of these ladies with a braid to the side of french braids like this I laugh to myself. Why when one person wears a style it's not even mention or looked at but when another person does it's a style, it's beautiful, or trendy?

Someone call me when they start wearing afros ahahahahahah!

I really like this hairstyle. I don't know if I could pull it off though.

She looks so perfect with her braids

I agree with bastylefilegirl, I've been rocking the double french braid for 27 years!

People need to stop misusing the word "iconic". This trick will never, ever be iconic. Especially not because of her silly little braids.

I LOVE this look- I really need to experiment with my hair more (it's long, but I always leave it out or do a simple ponytail). I think I'll try this this week!

this is the one i always do!! and i certainly didn't copy HER! i copied some other celeb two years ago but i don't remember who... like sarah michelle gellar or jessica alba...

i don't know why lauren always is linked to braids. nicole richie does them better!!

Just when you think you've seen nearly every type of braid imaginable, leave it to Lauren Conrad to add her own twist. LC's time on The Hills may be over but that's not stopping the young star from pursuing other endeavors.

At last night's book signing for LA Candy and appearance on The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien, Lauren busted out the braids again. But this time, she chose dual French braids that looped together in the back, forming a loose, chic bun. Recently I got the scoop behind her iconic braids, and now, here are some tips on re-creating last night's updo version.

Get the how-to when you read more.

  1. For a shiny effect with slight hold, apply a glossing gel to damp hair and blow-dry. Try Nivea Diamond Gloss Styling Gel ($12).
  2. Part the hair down the middle. Starting from one side of the part, loosely French braid the hair all the way down, stopping the braiding at to the nape. Secure with an elastic band. Repeat on the other side. Note how Lauren's stylist only braided hair along the sides, leaving hair from the crown down to the neck out of the mix.
  3. Leaving the two braids out, gather the hair from the crown down to the neck into a ponytail. Secure with an elastic band and twist hair around it, securing with bobby pins into the base of the pony.
  4. Finish up by twisting and wrapping the two ends around the "bun" you created in the third step, using bobby pins to secure. Add a spritz of hair spray (such as David Babaii for WildAid Light Styling Spray, $12.50) for a little hold.
