I have done a couple Olympic distance Tri - Half IronMan is in my bucket list.

I have a 5K on my list of items I want to complete before I turn 30 (in 9 months). May not seem much for most people, but I have severe asthma that up until this spring prevented me from taking steps much less attempting a run. I'm now working on upping my lung endurance by doing intervals.

5ks are great Yoga, don't discount yourself! I was so proud of myself when I finished my first 5k, it never occured to me in my whole life that I would run a race, ANY race, ever.

I've done several sprints and Olys, 2 half ironman distance races (will be three this weekend! - Diamondman in De.)... and My Big Race is Ironman Cozumel .. 82 days from today. GULP. Time goal is sub 14:30 but I will be totally happy with anything under 16:59:59 Eye-wink

and I agree with hausfrau, yoga -- never discount what you you've accomplished! I hang out on a tri board and hate when people qualify their accomplishments with statements like "it may not seem like a big deal to other people" or "it's fast for me, but probably slow for other people" . celebrate what you've done !

runningesq on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 7:31am

I have not done any races. It's not my dream. I hope Teri does it!

I am doing INSANITY right now and after doing this, I feel like I could do anything. lol

chatnoir on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 7:46am

what is INSANITY??

hausfrau on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 8:27am

Good luck for your upcoming HIM - runningesq!
BTW - looks like you did not taper for the HIM. You mentioned that you did 75 miles bike ride on the weekend ... I always have problem with tapering - either workout too much or relax too much.

lydialee_home on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 8:28am

lydialee -- I'm not tapering for this HIM. I'm just using it as training for my Ironman. I mean, I WILL race it (hope to go under 6 hours!) but it's not my "A" race this year!

runningesq on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 8:42am

I'd like to do a triathlon!

cg130 on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 9:10am

It was on my bucket list. I did a team in training 1/2 Ironman in '04. I may do another tri in the future, but not in the next year.

kia on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 10:22am

I'm going to do a du! Eye-wink I just found one this morning and decided it's something I can easily train for and complete. I'm excited!

syako on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 10:23am

Nope, not at all. I definitely want to run a marathon someday, but don't have enough interest in swimming or biking.

tlsgirl on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 1:16pm

I've done 6! Have run 2 marathons. Ironman is my bucketlist.

FitSugar Says:

Along with learning to play guitar and ballroom dance, Teri Hatcher explained that running in a triathlon was on her "bucket list." I am not sure how the guitar or the dancing are coming along, but her "bucket list" will soon be one item shorter, because Teri was tapped by Disney, parent company for her show Desperate Housewives, to lead a team at the upcoming Nautica Malibu Triathlon. The race is scheduled for September 13, and Terri has upped her regular training. She recently told People, the running is her least favorite segment of the race. About the four mile run that completes the race Hatcher said, "It's the least fun for me. By that point, I'm really tired, so the whole time I'm thinking, 'I'm not going to make it.'" Her participation in the triathlon will be doing more than whipping her into even better shape, Hatcher will be raising money for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. What about you? Is participating in a triathlon on your "bucket list"?
