I put mine on vibrate. My vibrate setting isn't too loud and that way I can still pick up in case it's something important.

I put mine on vibrate too. Half the time I don't hear it *ring* in my purse, let alone vibrate!

With any kind of appointment I have I always put my phone on silent. I refuse to take a call when meeting with anyone because I find it rude to interrupt scheduled time. If I happen to forget to turn the ringer off, I usually apologize and hit "ignore" on the call.

I often get flak from this from my mother (I'm in college and still live at home), because she thinks she should be able to get in contact with me whenever she feels like.

I either place my phone on "silent" or "phone calls only" depending on the appointment. Since my BB Storm2 gets notifications for e-mail, Facebook, PIN, BB Messenger, etc., it can be a bit much to leave message notifications on. Regardless, I ignore all phone calls unless they are likely to be emergency in nature.

I actually work for a spa, and we suggest silent or off for obvious reasons. One of the masuers who works with me was telling me about a client he had who HAD to answer her phone EVERYTIME is rang. He said it was extremely obnoxious and he was unable to really get much work done on her. He was kinda angry about it. She apparently works for the local hospital, but seriously, if you're going in for a time of relaxation, turn it off. It's so obnoxious for everyone.

I always turn it off completely. If I heard it vibrate, I wouldn't be able to answer it anyway, right?

my phone is always either on loud or vibrate. I refuse to turn it off or silence it.

Usually turn it off unless I'm expecting a call I have to take, then vibrate and apologize ahead of time.

i keep mine on silent at all times (other then when it rings- it vibrates) i have this LED application on my blackberry that is set to different colors for different alerts so i know what message i am am receiving without having that annoying tone or vibrate going off non-stop Smiling

I leave it on vibrate or turn it off. Appointments never last that long anyway, and besides, I pay for voicemail and 'who called', so why not use them once in a while!

Hi,
It is necessary to have phone either on vibration or on silent to not making bad impression while the appointment is going on.

On a recent episode of How I Met Your Mother, Marshall and Ted decided to take a road trip to Chicago, while leaving Lily back at Crumpet Manor. While the guys were gone, Marshall called Lily several times to apologize for taking off without letting her know. Luckily for her (and him!), she was so caught up in her relaxing treatments that she didn't even know he was calling (even though her phone was on vibrate). After watching this, I couldn't help but wonder what everyone else does with their phone while at a spa appointment or doctor's appointment? I always put my phone on silent during these kinds of appointments because my vibrate setting is still pretty loud. What about you? Do you ever leave your ringer on?
