I guess you are entitled to your opinion, I still hate it. Eye-wink

I didn't care for her dress either, Aimee.

emalove on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 4:48pm

I like it! It makes her look curvy and hip-py (in a good way!) when she's actually, let's face it, approaching a stick figure.

I can see how the fabric may be reminiscent of tin foil, but I think it has just enough gold tones in it to steer away from such a comparison.

I'm not a fan either but am of Nina Ricci.

glam sugar on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 4:59pm

An ugly dress to match her ugly personality.

xoswiss on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:02pm

it's kind of inbetween great and horrible.
i can see how it can be seen both ways.
i like the way it is draped a lot, i'm just not sure about how it fits her.

kitkatherine on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:19pm

Looks better on the runway and Natalia. I don't think it was a good choice for the red carpet.

fleurfairy on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:24pm

I love the shape and cut of it! So shiny though. But it looks good on her

purseaholic on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:43pm

Damn, that's really shiny. And really ugly.

x_juicyfruit on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:51pm

Nice cut for her, it is a little shiny, but she pulls it off pretty well.

MsPiggy321 on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:54pm

I think Ellen looks fabulous. And as for the "ugly personality", that couldn't be further from the truth. My good friend has worked extensively with Ellen, and from what I understand she is an absolute doll. Everyone on the Grey's Anatomy set, from crew to c-stars, adores her. She is professional and intelligent, a great actress, and a kind person. So don't judge her just because you don't like her dress, and don't say mean things just for the heck of it.

MeredithK on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 5:56pm

I love the dress....looks like quicksilver/mercury.

Madamesoybean on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 6:32pm

I did not love it at all. I thought there were a lot of disappointing dresses last night and this was one of them.

arlyle on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 6:59pm

nina ricci needs to mix up the tops of her dresses ... it looks VERY similar to the one reece wore (the shorter yellow one..)

emlod10 on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 10:04pm

Still love it Smiling

littlemissme on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 10:05pm

I think that dress is really beautiful!

inadee on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 2:43am

she was my favorite too! the train is BEAUTIFUL!

Rabbit88 on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 7:44am

Fab, I totally agree with you that this dress is AMAZING. It looked wonderful on the red carpet, but even BETTER under the lights on stage! Go Ellen.

DCStar on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 7:49am

looove the dress
gorgeous

mademoiselle2009 on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 8:07am

I loved the dress and her whole look. I watched the red carpet and some of the fashion show after and nobody liked her look. I can't understand that. She looks chic and sexy w/o being vulgar. The color is great and the whole thing is appropriate plus her arms look great and toned.

kurnu on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 9:47am

I don't ever like any think Ellen Pompeo wears to award shows. She has the worst taste in gowns.

Dana18 on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 10:09am

gorgeous!

timberlake_box_lover on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 5:11pm

@MeredithK - I've based all of my opinions about her on her rude affect on Talk Shows, not to mention how obnoxious she was on the Punk*d episode she was on. Try checking it out, and see how much you

xoswiss on Tue, 01/29/2008 - 7:54pm

I think that Nina Ricci dress is beautiful.

elizabethrosalyn on Wed, 01/30/2008 - 8:34am

FabSugar Says:

Everyone's opinions are always welcome on Fab. I think we can all agree that last night's SAG awards brought out a bevy of beautiful dresses. Whether they were intended for the Golden Globes or not, I say it's always better to overdress than underdress — especially when a red carpet is involved. It looks like Frenchie Marion Cotillard won your votes for best dressed last night. My favorite didn't make your best-dressed list, but I couldn't keep my eyes off of Ellen Pompeo in her liquid velvet Nina Ricci. Do you recall last night during the pre show when she claimed she saw it in the January issue of Vogue and knew it was the one? Fine choice, Ellen. Especially since she won for worst dressed at last years SAG awards. You've come a long way babe.

Also, you may have noticed that your favorite and my favorite are both Nina Ricci by Olivier Theyskens gowns. Get ready because Nina Ricci is about to blow up — in the best way.
