Mark Your Calendars! Your Fall Schedule Is Going to Revolve Around These 4 TV Shows

Apple Crisp Macchiatos and cozy cardigans aside, if there's one thing to get excited about for fall, it's the TV lineup. As the official start of the TV year, fall is packed with highly anticipated new and returning series to keep us entertained, and sure enough, 2021 is slated to deliver. This season, our eyes are on FOX, with the premiere of three brand-new primetime shows, in addition to the return of the hugely popular The Masked Singer. There's soapy drama, there's double the singing competitions, there's plenty to look forward to. Clearly, we've got our fall plans sorted — at least Monday through Thursday. Check it all out ahead!

The Big Leap
Fox

The Big Leap

If you've ever wanted to combine the talent and competition of So You Think You Can Dance with the musical comedy-drama of Glee, you're in luck. The Big Leap follows a group of diverse characters who decide to go after their second chances by participating in a reality dance show that could change their lives. The show feels fresh, and we're already anticipating lots of happy tears.

The premiere date: Monday, Sept. 20

Our Kind of People
Fox

Our Kind of People

Taking place in the town of Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, MA, an aspirational and historical community where the rich and powerful Black elite gather, OUR KIND OF PEOPLE, is a new drama starring Yaya DaCosta, Morris Chestnut, and more. It follows a strong-willed single mom and beauty entrepreneur as she sets out to reclaim her family's name in this elite community. But she soon discovers a dark secret about her own mother's past that will turn her world upside down. It's inspired by Lawrence Otis Graham's critically acclaimed book Our Kind of People: Inside America's Black Upper Class and produced by the same people who brought us Empire and Star, so we already know this show is going to pack in the drama.

The premiere date: Tuesday, Sept. 21

Alter Ego
Fox

Alter Ego

If you love The Masked Singer, you are going to love Alter Ego. Alter Ego is the world's first avatar singing competition series and the next iteration of the musical competition show. It takes performance to a whole new level by giving singers the chance to perform as they've always wanted to be seen — through their alter ego avatar. It's an opportunity for singers from all walks of life to reinvent themselves, get a second shot at fame, and finally become the stars they've always dreamed of being. Judges will.i.am, Nick Lachey, Alanis Morissette, and Grimes are joined by Emmy Award-winning host Rosci Diaz.

The premiere date: Wednesday, Sept. 22 and Thursday, Sept. 23

The Masked Singer
Fox

The Masked Singer

Global singing phenomenon The Masked Singer is back for its sixth (!) season this fall, and this time, there's a new twist in the name of the Take It Off Buzzer. A panelist can hit the buzzer if they think they're 100 percent sure they know who a contestant is — if they're right, the contestant will unmask immediately and leave the competition, and the panelist receives two points toward the Golden Ear Trophy. The sixth season features all-new secret celebrities and the return of "wildcard" contestants crashing into the competition and upending the battle for the Golden Mask trophy. It's going to be a wild ride with some shocking moments — we can't wait.

The premiere date: Wednesday, Sept. 22 and Thursday, Sept. 23
