Shopping for a new pair of shoes takes a lot of careful thought and consideration. Sure, you can go out and just hit the "add to cart" button on the next cute pair you find in your size, but that's how you can end up with blisters everywhere and eventually, a box that collects dust in the back of your closet.

When shopping for shoes, we look for options that hit that sweet spot between style and comfort. We like to think of ourselves as experts on this matter. We scour the internet for the latest and greatest new products, sift through thousands of reviews, and road-test items in real life to ensure they're worth it. The latest brand we put to the test was Charlotte Stone.

The company was created in 2014 by an Ontario-born designer of the same name with the goal of making shoes fun and exciting, not daunting or uncomfortable. The website reads, "We believe that fashion, like life, is meant to be enjoyed. Not painful. Not prohibitively expensive. And not relegated to special days like birthdays and holidays."

From a quick look at Charlotte Stone's website, you'll see that, visually, the brand is nailing it. The line-up includes everything from sandals to clogs, sneakers, flats, and heels, with most of the shoes coming in the brand's signature bright, color-block hues. Whether you're looking for a pair of shoes that'll make you smile every time you look down at your feet or you have a vacation coming up where fun, festive footwear is in order, Charlotte Stone may have the option for you.

Charlotte Stone Allie Nassau Sandals ($228)

"I love vibrant colors, so the minute I saw these mismatched color-block sandals, I knew I had to have them. The color palette is bright, but not shockingly so, and the fact that the shoes feature hues from magenta to lime green to aqua blue makes them easy to wear with a variety of different outfits. On vacation, I paired them with a rust-orange mini dress one night and a pink-and-blue floral maxi the next. The two-inch platform was perfect for me, too. I'm 5'9", so I don't need the height, and the wooden clog-style heels were easy to walk in — although the material does make them a bit louder than typical sandals, especially on tile floors. The leather feels soft and supple, and the memory foam insoles make them exceedingly comfortable to wear. These sandals will no doubt be a staple in my spring and summer wardrobe." – Annalise Mantz, senior editor, branded content

Charlotte Stone Marlo Clogs in Luggage ($234)

"I've been itching for a pair of clogs for a while now, but I hadn't made up my mind on what pair to get — that is until I saw Charlotte Stone's Marlo in the color Luggage, an orangey-brown leather. It's your classic closed-toe clog but with an ultra-high, thick, platform heel for a modern and trendy twist. Thanks to the two-inch platform, the four-inch heel doesn't feel as high as it actually is, making the shoes extremely easy to walk in. These elongated my legs, giving the illusion that I'm way taller than 5'3". The shoe also has a memory foam insole for extra comfort with every step. I'm loving these with my wide-leg jeans and sun dresses." — Jessica Harrington, senior editor, beauty
