Ivanka Trump's Response to the Allegations Against Her Father Isn't the Least Bit Surprising

Ivanka Trump has yet to formally address the several sexual misconduct allegations against her father, President Donald Trump. Though she reportedly cried when she first heard the infamous Access Hollywood tape, the adviser to the president had, until now, evaded questions about the ongoing allegations against her father.

In a Feb. 26 Today show interview with Peter Alexander, Trump had a strong reaction after being asked, "Do you believe your father's accusers?" She said, "I think it's a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he's affirmatively stated that there's no truth to it. I don't think that's a question you would ask many other daughters."

Though Trump criticized the very question, she ultimately did end up answering it. "I believe my father. I know my father," she said. "So, I think I have that right as a daughter to believe my father."

The president's daughter herself faced criticism earlier this year when she tweeted in support of Oprah Winfrey's rousing Golden Globes speech. Describing the speech as "empowering and inspiring," Ivanka added, "Let's all come together, women and men, and say Time's Up." The tweet frustrated many who felt she should have at least spoken out about her father's inappropriate behavior towards women, let alone the allegations against him.
