Young parents with a second on the way Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have decided to settle their growing family down in a 5,380-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 5.5-bath home in Laurel Canyon, CA, purchasing the property for under $2 million. The "Aspen Lodge meets Tropical Paradise" pad is an anomaly of sorts, compared to the modern celebrity homes of their young Hollywood peers.

According to Page Six, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden quietly purchased "a two-bedroom, two-bath downtown condo on the Bowery" for $999,999 in December. The 1,000-square-foot, 11th-floor pad, which is said to be "very simple, nothing high design," and "was sold unrenovated," will be the primary residence of the family of three.
